My doctoral thesis received the 2006 Morris and Dorothy Rubinoff Award for Best Dissertation of the School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS) at the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn), Philadelphia, PA, USA. My thesis advisor was Dr. Jean Gallier from the (Department of Computer Information and Science - CIS) at UPenn. Below is a picture of Dr. Jean Gallier (left), myself (middle), and Dr. Antonio Castelo Filho (right). Dr. Antonio Castelo Filho was my Master’s thesis advisor. I named this picture “My two mentors”. The picture was taken in the banquet of SIBGRAPI, a symposium held at UCDB in Campo Grande, MS, Brazil in October 2008. |
